First and foremost, we apologise for our long absence over the last few months. Due to some unforeseen circumstances and personal issues that we cannot go into, the lecture we had originally planned for October 7 obviously did not take place and the announcement for the upcoming lecture is going out a bit late. However, we can finally announce the date of the next online lecture and the name of the lecturer!
The upcoming lecture is scheduled to take place on Thursday November 25 at 4 pm CET (GMT +1) and the amazing Linda Dielemans, Dutch archaeologist and author, will be introducing us to the art of archaeological storytelling. Linda Dielemans has written several successful Dutch award-winning and nominated archaeology themed children’s books, such as Brons and Onder de golven. She skillfully translates archaeological research into beautiful stories for children (though truthfully, these stories work just as well for adults), showing a clear trust in her young readers’ abilities to understand complex processes, and showcasing even more so that archaeology and storytelling can and should go hand in hand.
We are very thankful that Linda has agreed to share her knowledge with us. The title and abstract of Linda’s lecture will be shared next week, so make sure to keep an eye on the website and our social media! If you wish to attend the lecture, for free (!), please email nastarchaeology@gmail.com or click the trusty ‘Register now!’ button at the top of this page to receive the Zoom-link.
We hope that you are just as excited as we are about the upcoming lecture. We are hopeful that we can still schedule a third lecture sometime in the future to substitute the cancelled October 7. Should we find a suitable replacement lecturer and a suitable date, we will of course update you via this website and via our social media channels.
